    FG plans to implement cost-reflective tariff for power sector — Adelabu

    The Minister of Energy, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, on Tuesday reaffirmed the Federal Authorities’s dedication to implementing a cost-reflective tariff within the electrical energy sector as a key step towards resolving the liquidity disaster within the trade.

    Talking on the Mission 300 Stakeholders Engagement assembly in Abuja, Adelabu disclosed that the federal government is exploring numerous choices to settle the N4 trillion debt owed to energy technology firms.

    He famous that the debt had amassed because of the authorities’s continued lack of ability to completely fund electrical energy subsidies.

    Adelabu added that the federal government plans to section out blanket subsidies within the sector and exchange them with focused help for weak and low-income shoppers.

    The Minister, in response to an announcement from his workplace, famous that the priorities of the federal government in energy sector reforms embody,   “addressing the market liquidity points and initiating required sector reforms”.
