Towards the backdrop of challenges confronting the Nigerian Correctional Service, students within the discipline of criminology and the legal justice system would converge on the College of Abuja to look at Correctional Service Reformation within the nation.

The 2025 Convention is themed : “Correctional service reformation in Nigeria: Selling justice, rehabilitation and social reintegration”
In keeping with him, the Convention aims are to “assess the present state of the Nigeria’s correctional system and the necessity for reforms; discover methods for efficient reformation, rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-inmates; interrogate the function of regulation, coverage and human rights within the penal reform; analyse probation, parole, different to dispute resolutions together with restorative justice; assess affect and implication of the 2019 Nigeria Correctional Providers Act; and focus on the challenges going through correctional providers in Nigeria and make coverage suggestions for mitigating them.
He disclosed that the keynote speaker is Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche , the Controller Basic of Corrections, who would converse on “2019 correctional service act: challenges and prospects for efficient implementation” whereas the lead paper presenter is Christopher Uchechukwu Uguokwe professor, of the division of Sociology and Anthropology, UNN who would converse on “Human Assets Administration in Penal and correctional amenities”
The NSC president acknowledged that the correctional service is essential in making certain the reformation and rehabilitation of the inmates, including that there could also be the necessity to examine problems with employees compromise inside that delicate establishment.
