Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Asake are the joint most-nominated African artists for the MTV 2025 Video Music Awards, with two nominations every.
Burna Boy was nominated within the Video For Good class for ‘Larger’ and the Greatest Afrobeats class for ‘Tatata’ that includes Travis Scott, whereas Asake was nominated twice within the Greatest Afrobeats class for ‘Lively’ that includes Travis Scott and ‘Get It Proper’ with Tems.
The remainder of the African contingent – Rema, Moliy, Tems, Wizkid and Tyla – obtained one nomination every within the Greatest Afrobeats class, aside from Ayra Starr, who was nominated within the MTV PUSH Efficiency of the 12 months class for ‘Final Heartbreak Track’.
General, American singer Girl Gaga lead the nominees with 12 nominations together with Greatest Artist of the 12 months, Track of the 12 months and Video of the 12 months.
MTV 2025 Video Music Awards will probably be held on September 7 on the USB Enviornment in New York.
